My First Landscape Painting Attempt in Acrylic – Work in Progress

This is my first attempt at painting a landscape, please keep in mind that it is far from done and I am just starting to use acrylics, which i am starting to enjoy more and more. I started taking a 5 week workshop with a local artist Andrew Giffin, who is very helpful and has a wonderful way of working with people. I am hoping that I can get a couple more started so if I run into any problems i can get some help with them over the next few weeks. I started this painting on Wednesday night and only worked on it at home for a bit last night, but I ca see improvement, when i first started it I hated it :(, but as I work on it I think it might just turn into something πŸ™‚

  1. This painting is coming along beautifully – the colors and techniques are great. Acrylics fascinate and yet scare me to death – I stick to oils and watercolor and wish I knew how to handle acrylics:)

  2. Thank you Manon and Brian, I am going to try the oils soon (I have had oils now for at least 2 years lol) mind you there is not much that I don't have in way of art supplies πŸ™‚

  3. Krista,

So far, this is magnificent. I think it looks great! Yes, I go between oil and acrylics, but always come back to the latter for many reasons.

    I like what I see!

    Enjoy your week,
    Brian
