I glazed over the background again and then lifted out the highlights on the leaves. This is the point where I like to have my darkest darks done, I find it makes it easier to get the rest of the values right. I have introduced Caput Mortum into my mixes with my roses and reds.
I paint each petal separately so i can graduate the values giving it more depth.
Thank you Sheri. Yes the peonies are beautiful, I must try to get to Kingsbrea soon.Caput Mortuum it is a dull red violet full name is Caput mortuum violet by Windsor Newton it is great for making darks.
